MIGUEL REINA ORTIZ MD, PHD, CPH

Promoting health | Supporting careers

Global Health scientist with a research focus on infectious disease prevention and control, post-disaster health outcomes, and global health diplomacy. Interested in the dynamic relationship between infectious agents, their hosts, and the environment in which these interactions occur. His research is informed by the global nature of public health issues. As a result, interested in the global dialogue on disease prevention, including international binding and non-binding instruments and their negotiation and application.

COURSES

Miguel REINA ORTIZ, MD, PhD, CPH teaches courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Dr. Reina Ortiz supervises domestic and international field experiences as well as professional and service learning experiences. He also supervises master and doctoral level research projects including theses and dissertations. Finally, Dr. Reina Ortiz is Faculty Advisor of student organizations such as the Global Health Student Association,  the Nepalese Student Association, and International Health Student Collaborative.
